I'm Starting Over...

I've had this blog since May of last year, but I never did much with it. I only had twelve posts, and most of them were of no consequence whatsoever. So, I'm dusting off this blog (in the most figurative of senses), erasing all the old posts, and starting over.

I've just finished up the first week of my spring semester, and I think the future looks promising. I very ready for Communication Arts to be over...it is definitely not my favorite class. But, it's a university requirement, so I'm stuck. Cultural Perspectives 102 should be good...we're reading a lot more interesting pieces this semester than last, I think. And I'm taking the same professor as last semester, so (hypothetical) bonus points for me there.

I'm 50/50 on Spanish 102. I love the class, but the subject matter is not what I really want to be spending my time on. However, since I have to go through the 202 level for my major, I need to do really well in 102 so I can go to Spain this summer to take 201 and 202 in five weeks in Madrid! (yay)

I'm really looking forward to my Mass Media Practices class. The teacher is amazing, and even though it is going to be a lot of work, everything is just so interesting. Every time I go to a JMC class, I get a little giddy feeling in my stomach, and I know that this is exactly where I am supposed to be: at Samford, totally immersed in the JMC department. I have such a peace when I'm working on anything for my JMC classes, editing a piece at the radion station, or just stopping by to chat with one of the brilliant professors in the department. It just feels right.

I think this semester is going to go really well. I thank God every day that He put me at Samford, with all these amazing people. I thank Him that He let me discover what I would study years before I began my college career. I am so grateful to have these experiences (I would say words can't express my feelings...but since I'm working toward being a journalist, that excuse doesn't work).

I'm going to try my best to keep up with this blog from now on...just like I'm going to try my best to keep my desk organized, my calender up to date, and my work-out routine on schedule (this last one is the least fun of all). And if I do all this...I'm rewarding myself with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory (and also this really cute shirt from the Samford Bookstore).
