New Toy

So I got to mess around on iMovie today for a CA project, and let me tell you, I LOVE it! It's my new toy.

It's so easy to use, and especially with the source material we were using, it was hysterical to make this video!

Just figured I'd pop over and post that here.

The Post Office Just Got A Lot Cooler

Because today I found out that they sell pink bubble wrap.

And apparently lime green and purple, too.

Heck. Yes.

So I Have This Little Addiction...

...to all things Disney.

To tell the truth, it's actually fairly recent. I always liked Disney and knew tons and tons and tons of facts about the movies and had watched all the classics a million times, but I wasn't obsessed. However, if you ask anyone who knows me currently at college, they'll tell you:

I. LOVE. DISNEY. A LOT.

Specifically the Disney Princesses. They've got lovely little pedestals in a special section of my heart. Especially Jasmine (don't get me started on how underrepresented she is in the Princess merchandise. Cinderella, Belle, and Sleeping Beauty get all the glory.)

I think the obsession pretty much started when Samford took a road trip down to Orlando for the first football game of the year versus UCF. As a bonus, the entire group got to go to Disney World the next day. I was hanging out with a wonderful group of girls (Ruth Anne, who would go on to become my best friend, Olivia, another fabulous friend, and Jessica, the current roommate), and we decided to get princess crowns first thing when we got there. Ruth Anne was Belle, Olivia was Aurora, Jessica was Cinderella, and I spent much time deliberating between Ariel and Jasmine.

I identify incredibly well with both of them. Ariel for her passion for singing and naive nature, and Jasmine for her sarcasm and boldness. And both of them are hopeless romantics and stubborn. In the end I ended up going with Jasmine because her crown was prettier : )

We wore those crowns all over the park that day and were greeted as "Your Highnesses" wherever we went.

Can you say, "amazing?" Because I can.

Anyway, so that pretty much started my absolute fascination with the Disney Princesses. I have a wonderful poster on my wall of the Princesses (minus Tiana because she hadn't officially been added yet) and Jasmine's tiara is hanging beside it. I have Disney Princess playing cards, and I even did a paper about Vera Wang's Princess perfume wearing my tiara (the professor loved it).

So yeah. Obsessed. Just a little bit.

But feel free to gift me anything that may have to do with the Princesses. Because I love them.

The Infamous Samford Ratio

So I've got ABCFamily on as background noise for my reading of The Communist Manifesto (fun stuff).

Right now they're playing The Wedding Date, which I haven't seen before. It's not bad, to tell the truth.

Anyway, so ABCFamily keeps promoting their new original movie that's airing tonight, Beauty and the Briefcase, which looks incredibly corny and awful with Hilary Duff dressed in really unattractive, bright colors and awkward lipstick. I like Hilary Duff, but her clothes in this movie? Ugh.

Seriously, the station plays a commercial for at least once per commercial break. And in each variation of the commercial (I'm thinking there are two or three), Hilary Duff's character says the line "There are so many men!"

And all I can think is, "She is obviously not talking about Samford."

Darn that 3:1 ratio.

*sigh*

Sometimes it's really hard for me to watch romantic comedies.

Just is.

That is all.

So...Um...

So...it's been a while since I've updated my blog...

Sorry 'bout that.

I've been kind of swamped lately. Papers, tests, midterms, orientation meetings for my 5-week Spain trip this summer (!!!), projects...the works.

You know that feeling in high school were the teachers pile on tons of homework in the last month and a half of school?

It's worse in college.

This week is going to be insane, too. I have nothing due tomorrow, but I have a meeting with my group for a massive project that's due Wednesday, a one-on-one meeting with a classmate who missed the class where the professor covered PowerPoint and so needs my help, and the little things that will inevitably come up.

Wednesday I have the aforementioned project, the presentation of which will take the WHOLE of the two-hour class (it has to...otherwise our grade gets docked). We're basically teaching the class about advertising, which is interesting, but I hate group projects because part of my grade is left up to other people (in this case three), and that annoys and frustrates me.

Thursday I have a speech with PowerPoint to give for CA and a rough draft on the same topic due for the same class. I also have an essay due for CP at 11:59:59 PM that night. Wonderful. I also have another Spain meeting that day.

Oh, and next Monday I have a Spanish test and a CP test on the same day...back-to-back classes, in fact. I'm just thrilled.

College is fun, but SO. MUCH. WORK.

Also, I am sick of PowerPoint.
